Fennel Essential Oil: Foeniculum vulgare
Medicinal use of fennel oil can be traced all the way back to the Roman empire. Today it is used aromatically and topically to benefit many bodily systems and to boost weight loss efforts.*
Uses: Aromatic, Topical, Internal
Fennel essential oil is most widely used to supplement efforts to improve digestive and weight-related health. Consumption of fennel has been noted to support and regulate digestive functions, reducing the risk of experiencing indigestion and enhancing the body’s ability to efficiently break down foods. This, combined with its ability to kickstart the metabolism and even curb unhealthy cravings, means that fennel essential oil can be used as a valuable supplement to weight-loss planning.* Fennel oil is also an expectorant, which means that it can be used to break up deposits of phlegm or mucus and to reduce discomfort resulting from coughs and colds. It also has laxative properties which, unlike chemically produced laxatives with detrimental side effects, can be used on a regular basis. And that is only the tip of the iceberg!
